Image feature extraction method based on shape characteristics and its application in medical image analysis

Abstract

With the continuous development and perfection of computer-aided diagnosis technology, image feature extraction methods are more and more used in medical image analysis, which increase diagnostic accuracy and work efficiency of doctors. In this article, common image shape features and their characteristics are introduced. Methods of shape characteristics are summarized, and their applications in medical image analysis are introduced. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
