This introduction chapter to the book provides brief overview of the conceptual debates in the field of child refugee mental health and humanitarian mental health and psychosocial support. The authors argue that for the advancement of academic research and clinical practice, it is essential to use approaches inspired by public mental health and the socio-ecological model of wellbeing. The 16 chapters of this book are briefly presented.
