Abstract

Minecraft is an innovative video game that combines a simplistic, flexible, childlike interface with an open-ended, non-deterministic, playing environment that allows for a wide assortment of tasks and skills building while providing a platform for innovative game play, collaboration, and new formats for interaction and cultural creation. In this paper, we explore the dynamics of Minecraft and we discuss their implications in the context of virtual education.
