Abstract

In BriefDiabetic snack bars are formulated to either prevent hypoglycemia or reduce postprandial hyperglycemia. This article reviews this new product category and the evidence-based claims associated with specific products. Diabetes health care providers and their patients should be aware of how products differ based on ingredient formulations and intended uses.
