Abstract

During the Ecsite conference in 2002 Città della Scienza, together with the Al Quds University, the Bloomfield Science Museum Jerusalem, Unesco and Ecsite, set up an important project to promote peace and dialogue in the Middle East. They were united by the common goal to foster a peace process that would not rely solely on diplomacy but also on the promotion of good practices designed to achieve a different and brighter future for Palestine. The project consisted of the creation of a Science Centre - an interactive museum of Science and Technology - in the campus of the Palestinian Al-Quds University. It was a fascinating concept that immediately won the support of prestigious scientific institutions such as the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the University of Naples and the Andrea and Charles Bronfman Philanthropies (ACBP).
