Abstract

The extinct Eomyid rodents play a large place of Burkart Engesser scientific work. Thus tooth samples of the genus Eomyops Engesser, 1979 from German localities of the Oberen Serien (Kleineisenbach, Giggenhausen, Marktl, Hammerschmiede and Hillenloh) are presented or discussed. Two Eomyops species are recorded: E. oppligeri Engesser, 1990 and E. catalaunicus (Hartenberger, 1966). A third form, only found in Marktl, has to stay in open nomenclature. In spite of the richness of the herein studied material, the time gap separating the localities does not allow to access precisely the relationships between the species.
