The words ta ethé and mores have similar meanings, both signifying customs and ways of acting in society. In its singular form the word ethos refers to an individual character or temperament educated according to social values, while ta ethikéis a part of philosophy that deals with all forms of social character and conduct of individuals and that is dedicated to understanding a given society’s intrinsic values, investigating, as a result, individual and collective human actions, exploring their meaning, origins, principles, and purposes.
