Abstract

Occupations involving exposure to ionizing radiation include: health care professions, the manufacturing industries, defense services and the nuclear power industry. Acute exposure can cause purely cutaneous injuries, multi-system injuries and death. Late complications include chronic radiodermatitis and skin cancer.
