On the occasion of the Fifth Centenary of the birth of Saint Teresa of Avila and in the context of the 50th anniversary of the Vatican Council II, this article is offered as a contribution to the enigma of finiteness. For Teresa "fright" invites into her latent anthropology, which can be characterised as unified, relational and committed through a humanizing pneumatology. Reading the theresian text in a dialogical key, it is possible to reveal that the human fright is unfolded along the existence as a mystery of unity in diversity which refers to otherness and impels towards a hopeful project.
