Abstract

Abstrak: Pesantren salafiah adalah lembaga pendidikan yang sudah tersebar ke seluruh pelosok negeri. Kesederhanaan, kearifan lokal, falsafah dan pola pendidikannya sudah mengakar pada sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia, khususnya dalam pendidikan berbasis agama Islam. Secara tidak langsung dan tidak formal pendidikan karakter telah ditanamkan secara kuat dengan pola dan teknik yang khas pesantren salafiah. Pendidikan karakter sesungguhnya tidak harus menggunakan kurikulum yang formal, cukup dengan hiden curriculum. Pendidikan karakter tidak selalu diajarkan dalam kelas, namun dilakukan secara simultan dan berkelanjutan di dalam dan di luar kelas. Keberhasilan pendidikan karakter akan dipengaruhi oleh teladan dan contoh nyata dalam kehidupan dan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Pendidikan karakter tidak bisa dipaksakan, namun dijalani sebagai mana adanya kehidupan keseharian sehingga dengan sendirinnya melekat kuat pada diri setiap peserta didik atau santri. Kata Kunci: pondok pesantern Salafiah, pendidikan karakter, hiden curriculum PORTRAIT OF CHARACTER EDUCATION IN SALAFIAH BOARDING SCHOOL Abstract: Pesantren salafiah are educational institutions that are distributed throughout the country. Simplicity, local wisdom and philosophy as well as the pattern of education is rooted in the majority of the people of Indonesia, especially in the Islamic faith-based education. Indirectly and not formal character education has been strongly implanted with distinctive patterns and techniques salafiah boarding. True character education should not use a formal curriculum, enough with hiden curriculum. Character education is not always taught in the classroom, but performed simultaneously and continuous inside and outside the classroom. The success of character education will be influenced by role models and examples of real life and in learning activities. Character education can not be imposed, but lived as they really are their own daily lives so strongly attached to the self individual learners or students.
