Abstract

New framework conditions and the opportunities offered by digitisation are now encouraging new competitors from other sectors to push aggressively into the automotive market. For the established automotive companies, it is therefore vital to address the necessary changes with a comprehensive digitisation strategy and roadmap. The starting point is an analysis of the future expectations of the market and the customers, as well as a brief assessment of the current strategies of selected manufacturers. This will be compared with a vision of how the automotive industry could develop and how it could look in 2030 with the implementation of digitisation initiatives. Electric cars, autonomous driving in flexible mobility options and also Connected Services in the complete alignment between vehicles and smartphones are discussed as well as a completely changed customer experience in sales and service and the efficiency enhancement of business processes through automation, for example, in development, production and administration.
