Abstract

The purpose of the research is to investigate the perception of teachers regarding the ethical problems of the use of information technology (IT) in higher education teaching-learning-evaluation and research-development. A qualitative research methodology based on the use of the semi-structured interview was built. The research was attended by 31 teachers from the field of Informatics, but also the socio-human areas from five Romanian universities in the Northeastern part of Romania. The results of the research show that the ethical problems faced by teachers when operating with IT in academic activities are plagiarism, infringement of intellectual property rights, incorrect use of personal data, unethical use of computer programs, or multimedia resources. Preventing and reducing ethical issues related to the proper use of digital resources requires the development of programs for educating students and teachers in higher education.
