In this article ,we combine the status of Handan City gas pipeline, then proposed comprehensive evaluation ideas based on principal component analysis and BP neural network, The BP neural network has the advantage of parallel processing, adaptive learning and fault tolerance, so a BP neural network model based on principal component analysis will be created ,thus we can make the effectively risk assessment on gas pipeline. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
