Abstract

Poised on the cusp of a new millennium, Canada’s capital city, Ottawa, has, during its relatively short history, achieved a maturity that manages to harmonise its small town character with urbane ‘savoir-faire’. Ottawa is on the threshold of a major political reshaping of the city and the surrounding regional municipality.
