Abstract

In this study, we have carried out the experiment to immobilize Prussian blue (PB) onto magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) to develop the novel adsorption materials to remove Cs ions efficiently from aqueous solution. An immobilization process with amino group modified PBs and carboxyl group modified MNPs was investigated using plasma surface functionalization and demonstrated to fabricate PB@MNPs. To functionalize the surface of these nanomaterials, we used an inductively-coupled radio frequency plasma device with Ar/H2O gas mixture for carboxyl groups and Ar/NH3 gas mixture for amino groups, respectively. Preliminary result of Cs ion removal property using these PB@MNPs adsorbent materials will be discussed.
