Abstract

Along the lower Lahn valley between Diez (Limburg basin) and Laurenberg, the base levels of the Lower Quaternary main terraces which are mostly covered by fluvial sediments and loess sheets were mapped out exactly by the hammer refraction seismic method. A 20 m fault is shown at the western margin of the Limburg basin; it was also shown that along the lower Lahn vertical erosion of 120-150 m took place in a period of about 650 000 years.-J.M.H.
