Abstract

Marshall McLuhan's thinking was, and still is, revolutionary. Well known for coining the term 'Global Village' his theories, many of which are illustrated in this 'inventory of effects', force us to question how modes of communication have shaped society. This is an astonishing work by a truly astonishing man. "Reveals how the medium, or process, of our time--electric technology--is reshaping and restructuring patterns of social interdependence and every aspect of ... personal life"--Page 4 of cover.
