Abstract

Nowadays, mobile phones are not only used for mere communication such as calling or sending text messages. Mobile phones are becoming the main computer device in people's lives. Besides, thanks to the embedded sensors (Accelerometer, digital compass, gyroscope, GPS, and so on) is possible to improve the user experience. Activity recognition aims to recognize actions and goals of individual from a series of observations of themselves, in this case is used an accelerometer. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
