Abstract

Mobile payments are playing a key role in the rise of the mobile e-commerce industry. Mobile payment security (MPS) has become the largest barrier as customers are unwilling to trust mobile e-commerce without a secure transaction. A comprehensive risk assessment is a critical step in MPS risk early warning, planning and management. It has become necessary to develop dedicated decision support systems (DSS) for the risk management of mobile payments. This paper presents the theoretical principles underlying the design and development of a DSS forMPS risk assessment. This system is capable of addressing multiple qualitative judgmentswith quantitative support, which is accomplished through the development and use of a framework in a web-based fuzzy decision making environment.
