Abstract

Application of ultrasound in pain medicine (USPM) is a rapidly growing medical field in interventional pain management. In general, the application of USPM can be divided into three areas: peripheral, axial, and musculoskeletal structures. In this chapter, we will review the relevant anatomy, sonoanatomy, and the injection techniques of three peripheral structures: lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (LFCN), intercostal nerve (ICN), and suprascapular nerve (SSN). © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.
