Abstract

The starting point to run-time adaptation of capabilities and business services is the ability to discover changes in the delivery context. Indicators for relevant changes can be quite diverse depending on the business service and enterprise under consideration. Examples are performance measurements in systems management, specific events in workflow systems, user-generated actions in information systems, or trends detected on social media. This chapter will provide a systemization of potential indicators and context changes, introduce typical architectures of context platforms, and report on experiences with a sample implementation.
