Abstract

Mindfulness is a generic skill that has many applications, many of which are of great relevance to medical training and practice. The previous chapters provided an overview of mindfulness and some of the relevant research. This chapter will provide a practical description of how the attributes associated with mindfulness can be applied in medicine. We will not focus primarily on the benefits of mindfulness for medical students but will explore those that are of direct clinical relevance to doctors.
