Abstract

The use of information and communication technologies in the management of higher education institutions is one of the main tasks of modern high school, since the timeliness and adequacy of management decisions determine the effectiveness of the education system as a whole. The article aims at analyzing the basic principles of implementing the electronic progress log at Zhytomyr Nursing Institute KVNZ. The study used the method of analyzing the results of implementation of an information system for attendance and progress registration based on web-technology, using the PHP 5.4 programming language, MySQL 5.1 database server, and HTML 4.01 web-page markup language; the interface was developed under Web 2.0. Electronic Progress Log standards, introduced in academic year 2014/2015. It allows recording the current progress and final knowledge testing with automatic conversion into ECTS scale, counting total points per module and calculating the final score for a training course. Thus, implementation of an automated system of progress and attendance registration ensures an efficient monitoring of all parties to the educational process.
