Purposes: To investigate the condition of compliance and the influence of personality on compliance of left-home children.Methods: 316 left-home children were measured by the Adolescent Small Five Personality Questionnaire and the Gudjonsson Compliance scale (GCS). Results: There are significantly gender differences in compliance (P< 0.01); correlation analysis showed that extraversion, agreeableness, prudence, openness and emotion are significantly correlated with compliance of left-home children; Extraversion, agreeableness, prudence, openness are negatively correlated with compliance. Emotion is significantly positively correlated with compliance ( P< 0.05 or P < 0.01 ); regression analysis showed that personality has a significant influence on left-home children's compliance ( R 2= 0.436, F= 28.465, P= 0.000 ). Conclusions: Personality has a significant influence on left-home children's compliance. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
