Abstract

The article draws a portrait of North East,describing the key features of the region. The report shows the increased levels of migration from other parts of the UK (p. 32), low levels of employment (p. 34), high levels of deprivation (p. 37), shorter life expectancy than average in UK (p. 39) and highest CO2 emissions per resident of all the regions (p. 41).
