Abstract

An adjustable constant force mechanism is introduced. The profile is generated based on energy equations to obtain a parabolic pro-le and utilize lever arms to allow constant force adjustment. The reaction force error due to friction and dimension error is analysed to identify the output force error of the mechanism. A proof of concept prototype is built and a loading experiment is conducted to validate the mechanism synthesis and analysis.
