Abstract

The aim of this document is combine theoretical knowledge, computational tools and mathematical analysis so that the curves of inductance of two topologies for switched reluctance machines can be studied and analyzed. This article shows how to obtain the inductance curves for many values of current, using a magnetic simulation software named FEMM (Finite Elements Method Magnetics) and the programming language Lua script. The data analyses are to the 6x4 machine, three phase, and the 6x6 machine, single phase. Lastly, the computational simulations are compared with the real simulations made with the machines available in the university’s research laboratory.
