Abstract

The title UV-visible spectrophotometer is based on the method of electronic scanning. The operative spectral range is 200-800 nm, and a std. diffraction grid with 300 lines/min is used. The dispersed light spectrum is focused onto a phototransducer , and the spectrum is transformed by the photocathode into an elec. equiv. that is processed electronically. The instrument may be operated within spectral sections of 37.5, 75, 150, and 300 nm, and scanning speed may be varied widely (102-104/s). The app. and an assocd. rapid mixing device were used in studies of the complexation between NH4 molybdate and propyl gallate, of intermediary metabolites, and of the flash-induced F' band of KCl.
