Abstract

In this work, a new delay dependent approach to deal with the robust H∞ filtering based synchronization problem for a class of structured uncertain neutral systems with unknown delays is proposed. The new approach gives the maximal size of the interval of evolution of the delay within which the filtering based synchronization process can be guaranteed. The obtained criterion can guarantee the filtering based synchronization process within any interval in RI+, representing the evolution of the delay, where the size is less than the maximal size value obtained while solving the obtained criterion. Sufficient conditions to reduce the effect of the disturbance input on the filtering based synchronization error output to a prescribed level are established and expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the validity of the obtained results. © 2006 Springer.
