Abstract

This research is motivated by the uneven distribution of learning activities in class IX.3 SMP Negeri 2 Watansoppeng. The learning outcomes of Class IX .3 students of SMP Negeri 2 Watansoppeng in Indonesian subjects still need to be improved, because there are still as many as 18 students (51%) whose learning outcomes are below the KKM, so they must participate in remedial activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in activity and learning outcomes of Indonesian subjects through the application of the problem-based snowball throwing learning model. With the implementation of the problem-based snowball throwing learning model, students become more active through problem-making activities in the form of questions that are shaped like balls and then thrown to other students, each of which students answer questions from the balls obtained orally. An increase in learning activities which in the initial conditions averaged 69% (Poor) to an average of 79% (Enough) in Cycle I and an average of 92% (Very Good) in Cycle II. The increase in learning activities has the effect of increasing learning outcomes as evidenced by the increase in the average value of the initial conditions from 76.17 to 80.91 in Cycle I and 84.11 in Cycle II, and followed by an increase in student learning mastery, which in the initial condition was 19 people (54%) rose to 26 people (74%) in Cycle I and 33 people (94%) in Cycle II, or only 2 people (6%) had remedies. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi belum meratanya aktivitas belajar di kelas IX.3 SMP Negeri 2 Watansoppeng. Hasil belajar siswa Kelas IX .3 SMP Negeri 2 Watansoppengpada Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia masih perlu ditingkatkan, karena masih ada sebanyak 18 siswa (51%) hasil belajarnya dibawah KKM, sehingga harus mengikuti kegiatan remidi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia melalui penerapan model pembelajaran snowball throwing berbasis masalah. Dengan diterapkannya model pembelajaran snowball throwing berbasis masalah membuat siswa menjadi lebih aktif melalui kegiatan membuat masalah berupa pertanyaan yang dibentuk seperti bola kemudian dilempar ke peserta didik lain yang masing-masing siswa menjawab pertanyaan dari bola yang diperoleh secara lisan. Peningkatan aktivitas belajar yang pada kondisi awal rata-rata 69% (Kurang) menjadi rata-rata 79% (Cukup) di Siklus I dan rata-rata 92% (Sangat Baik) di Siklus II. Peningkatan aktivitas belajar membawa pengaruh peningkatan hasil belajar yang dibuktikan dengan meningkatnya nilai rata–rata kondisi awal 76.17 menjadi 80.91 pada SiklusI dan 84.11 pada Siklus II, serta diikuti dengan peningkatan ketuntasan belajars iswa, yang padak ondisi awal adalah 19 orang (54%) naik menjadi 26 orang (74%) pada SiklusI dan 33 orang (94%) pada Siklus II ,atau hanya 2 orang (6%) yang remedi.
