Background: During pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, cholesterol in the blood can increase by 20-30%. Increased cholesterol levels in pregnant women can be happend the occurrence of preeclampsia. Grapefruit rind empirically has been used in reducing cholesterol levels. The content of flavonoids in Bali orange peel is proven to have effectiveness in reducing total cholesterol in the blood. Aim: This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of Bali orange peel as a decrease in total cholesterol levels. Method: An experimental study was carried out by extracting a dosage of Bali orange peel in doses of 100mg / kgBB, 200mg / kgBB and 400mg / kgBB which were tested in vivo on male white rats induced by a high-fat diet. Total blood cholesterol level was measured for 21 days and a decrease was calculated. Result: The study resulted from three groups of Bali orange peel tea dosage (TCKJB) with a dose of 100mg / KgBB, 200mg / KgBB and 400mg / KgBB there was a decrease in total cholesterol levels compared to the hypercholesterolemia group. TCKJB 100mg / KgBB decreased by 22.4mg / dL, TCKJB 20mg / KgBB decreased by 31mg / dL, while TCKJB group 400mg / KgBB had decreased by 50.2mg / dL.
