Abstract

Ultrasound simulation is an excellent way to improve training effectiveness especially with procedures. This chapter discusses use of ultrasound simulation with competency assessment in conjunction with deliberate practice theory. The authors compare different simulator types and contrast their haptic feedback. There is also a substantial section on specific products for directors to consider including partial-task trainers, mannequins, screen-based computer simulators, and virtual reality simulators.
