Abstract

In today’s rapidly-changing environment, gaining competitive advantages of organizations is provided by meeting customer needs and expectations. Quality function deployment (QFD) is a systematic method that transforms customer needs (customer’s voice) into engineering features for a product or service. In this study, Fuzzy-QFD methodology is applied in the smartphone design process to develop the product according to the customer’s wishes. To address uncertainties in the subjective assessments of decision makers, fuzzy sets are integrated with QFD methodology. Thus, the presented method is performed to meet the expectations of the product/service in the best way. This is provided by converting customer voice (needs) into technical requirements and determining the systematic relationship between them. The results of the analysis prove the applicability and effectiveness of the Fuzzy QFD methodology in new product design.
