The discussion of digital inclusion for older people and how they adopt and adapt to new technologies is timely and useful. Digital inclusion has shifted from being an aspirational luxury in society to an integral feature that touches on all aspects of daily life. This is being recognised globally at the highest levels. This commentary reflects on how the issues raised in the chapters of this part of the book link to international policy commitments, how digital inclusion for older people is a fundamental rights issue-including the interplay with ageism and other areas of intersecting inequality-and what further avenues of research it would be good to explore.
