This invited lecture is about Computer Vision. The lecture tries to answer questions like; what is computer vision, what are its applications, how objects recognition is done, and how computers can interpret a scene or action. Basic image processing techniques such as image enhancement, edge detection, segmentation, features extraction, objects recognition and tracking are described. The lecture also explains the techniques needed to develop real-time machine vision system, face recognition system, fingerprints identification system and action recognition system. Screenshots from actually developed software are shown in Power point slides. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2008.
