Abstract

Neuropsychiatric disorders affect a massive chunk of world population directly or indirectly. The disability caused by neuropsychiatric disorders has a huge burden on one’s personal and family life and on the society, in general. Unfortunately, the affected person faces negative impact of discrimination everywhere, and the families too have to make adjustments and compromises in today’s life events, affecting their quality of life. The neuropsychiatric disorders are complex, which reflects in their inept treatment regimen. The direct connection of neuropsychiatric disorders with one’s behaviour makes them different from the rest of human health complications. The drugs and treatments are usually symptom specific, and the symptoms are usually overlapping between these disorders making the treatment non-specific. The side effects of the medicine and therapies for neuropsychiatric disorders are enormous and often lead to further complications due to off-targets. Plant-based treatments have been a good option of treating these disorders as they come with more advantages than side effects to the human body. So, plant-based therapies stand as a considerable option for treating these disorders.
