Abstract

4-Hydroxy-6-methyl-3-(3-arylpropanoyl)-2H-pyran-2-ones 14a-c and 4-hydroxy-6-methyl-3-(5-phenylpentanoyl)-2H-pyran-2-one 15, which are structural analogs of dehydroacetic acid (DHA) 1, react with o-phenylenediamine 2 according to the solvents and reaction conditions.
