Abstract

DDE in concentrations of 10 and 40 p.p.m. in the feed of penned mallards induced significant eggshell thinning and cracking and a marked increase in embryo mortality. DDD and DDT impaired reproduction, but less severely than DDE, a widespread breakdown product of DDT. © 1969 Nature Publishing Group.
