Abstract

Using the method of molecular dynamics, the influence of radiation within the energy interval Er = 0÷12 MeV on the local structure in a 0.14-mol.% NaCl aqueous solution at the temperature T = 300 K is studied. No substantial changes in the local structure of the solution were found at energies Er higher or lower than 9 MeV. At Er = 9 MeV, the local structure changes drastically. This radiation effect can be considered as a maximum one and taking place due to the increase of the probability for cations and anions of the solute to interact with one another and with water molecules.
