Most important role of wound dressing materials is to promote the wound healing process by providing a moist wound environment. Providing cost-effectiveness, reducing the patient's pain, and improving quality of life are equally important. We use transparent film-type dressing material, IV3000, for clean surgical wounds, which prevents fluid accumulation around surgical wounds due to its high water vapor transmission rate (11, 140g/ m2/day). Occlusive wound dressing using the transparent film-type dressing material contributes to reducing the risk of surgical site infection (SSI). For high exuding wounds such as split-thickness skin grafts, especially at the donor site, polyurethane form dressing material, Hydrosite®, is useful due to its excellent water absorption capability. Mesh-type silicone-faced wound dressing, SI-Mesh , does not damage newly formed fragile epidermis due to its low adhesiveness, which is beneficial in cases of cultured epithelial grafts. Hydrofiber® dressing made from sodium carboxy-methyl cellulose, Aquacel®, absorbs and interacts with wound exudate and maintains an adequate moist wound environment. Aquacel®Ag Burn reduce the risk of infection due to ionic silver, which is beneficial for wounds with a high risk of infection such as fresh 2nd degree burns.
