Abstract

Design patterns are tools to support taskTasks authoring under an evidence-centered approach to assessment design (ECD). This chapter reviews the basic concepts of ECD, focusing on evidentiary arguments. It definesModel-based reasoning the attributes of design patterns, and shows the roles they play in creating tasks around valid assessment arguments.
