In modern conditions, mentoring is one of the forms of manifestation of human social activity. At present, sufficient theoretical and practical material has been accumulated. It gives an opportunity for understanding the phenomenon of mentoring. However, the scientific literature does not cover the aspects related to the activities of mentors in relation to parents of children with disabilities. In this regard, the creation of a model for training mentors and the implementation of their training program is of particular relevance and is the aim of the work. To achieve this goal, questionnaires were used to identify the degree of the project participants' readiness for mentoring, and a number of techniques were implemented: "Determination of the General emotional orientation of the person" by B. I. Dodonov, projective technique "Tree with men" by P. Wilson, technique "Diagnosis of empathy level" by V. V. Boyko. The implementation of mentoring is a complex task, the solution of which is possible with the observance of a number of requirements for its organization, consistent and competent implementation of its effective management processes. The model of training developed and presented in the article is aimed at the development of socio-psychological competence, tolerance, empathy among mentors, as well as the formation of their readiness for mentoring activities with parents raising children with disabilities. As a result of the activities, respondents noted the importance of mentoring and their internal need to help people. The mentors stressed that the acquired experience allows them to understand themselves and their own life circumstances, to reveal their inner potential. The results indicate that the work carried out is effective and really contribute to the preparation of mentors to work with families who are raising children with disabilities. The results achieved in the process of mentoring, give a person emotional and personal satisfaction, open opportunities for personal growth and self-realization. The prospect of further research is to improve the forms and methods of training mentors to the work with parents raising children with disabilities.
