Abstract

The naturally occurring antibiotic lasalocid A acts as an ionophore for the extraction and membrane (chloroform) transport of a series of sarcophagine cobalt(lll) complexes. The process has been shown to be enantioselective resulting in the partial resolution of selected cage complexes. Factors underlying the observed behaviour are discussed. © 1993 IUPAC
