Abstract

Graphical Abstract 1. At the single-cell level, we identified four CAF subtypes in 12 solid tumours: proCAF, iCAF, myCAF and matCAF. 2. Each subtype exhibited different evolutionary trajectories during cancer progression. 3. iCAF was markedly absent in 'cold' tumour types, which typically respond poorly to immunotherapy. 4. Signatures associated with matCAF were consistently correlated with unfavourable prognoses across various cancers. Clin. Transl. Med. 2023;13:e1516. wileyonlinelibrary.com/journal/ctm2 https://doi.
