Abstract

The Rhenish massif is being uplifted as a rigid block. The western part is characterized by uplift and stability, the eastern by alternating uplift and subsidence. Trend analysis of recent vertical crustal movements for the massif and West Germany shows an E-W tilt. An analysis of the recent vertical height changes in terms of surface deformation parameters is discussed.-J.M.H.
