Recently, the increasing use of mobile technologies leads to face with new challenges in order to satisfy users. New systems deal with three main characteristics: context changes, mobility and limited resources of such devices. In this article we try to address such requirements using QoS-driven dynamic adaptations of application deployment. We are particularly interested in distributed applications QoS management facing with hardware limitations and mobility of devices, user requirements and usage constraints. We propose a service-based reconfiguration platform named Kalimucho. It implements a contextual-deployment heuristic to find a configuration matching context and QoS requirements. Kalimucho was tested with the Osagaia/Korrontea component model and several devices; the results confirm that Kalimucho provides a satisfying execution time to adapt applications. © 2011 IFIP International Federation for Information Processing.
