Abstract

The introductory section of the book covers basic equations of non-Newtonian fluid mechanics, classification of flows, and principles of numerical simulation. Discussion of finite difference techniques includes the use of differential models, discretization, boundary value problems, solution of coupled systems and aspects of time dependence. Examines finite element techniques, in particular calculations for generalized Newtonian flow and viscoelastic flow. Examples are provided. Future trends are examined. (C.J.U.)
