Production of Activated Char and Producer Gas Sewage Sludge

Abstract

Thermal treatment system with pyrolysis gasifier, three-phase gliding arc plasma reformer, and sludge char adsorber was developed for energy and resource utilization of waste sludge. A pyrolysis gasifier was combined as screw pyrolyzer and rotary carbonizer for sequential carbonization and steam activation, and it produced producer gas, sludge char, and tar. For the redn. of tar from the pyrolysis gasifier, a three-phase gliding arc plasma reformer and a fixed adsorber bed with sludge char were implemented. System anal. in pyrolysis gasification characteristics and tar redn. from the thermal treatment system were achieved. [on SciFinder(R)]
