Abstract

Description of a new species of Melita, M. dulcicola n.sp. (Amphipoda), discovered in a well fed by fresh groundwater on the island of La Gomera in the Canary archipelago. This is the third limnic, oculate malacostracan crustaceanbecoming known from the Canary Islands, and it is the third species of Melita (with world-wide over 65 marine or brackishwater species) recorded from fresh waters. © Masson, 1990.
