Abstract

The paper deals with the concept of the graphical open-source programming environment to support education in mechatronics. Proposed multiplatform environment was created in Java and allows the creation of control programs for mechatronic systems without detailed knowledge of the syntax of a particular programming language. Part of the development environment is the hardware platform for connecting sensors and actuators for the creation of stationary mechatronic systems, mobile robots and laboratory experiments that can be controlled from an interactive development environment. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2014.
